SEX AND THE LAW

BUT:
The law states that young people under the age of 13 can NOT legally give their consent to sex.

It is an offence to force someone, of any age, to take part in any kind of sexual activity against their will.

It is an offence for anyone under 18 to buy or rent adult material that carries an 18 certification.

It is an offence to make or distribute (including sharing images by mobile phone) pornography featuring young people who are, or look, under the age of 18.



It is against the law to have sex in a public place where it is likely that you may be seen and cause offence.

REMEMBER:
Sexual health services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL for all young people INCLUDING THOSE UNDER THE AGE OF 16.

THESE SERVICES ARE THERE TO SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE. YOU CAN ATTEND IF YOU ARE UNDER 16 AND ALSO IF YOU ARE NOT YET SEXUALLY ACTIVE BUT WOULD LIKE SOME INFORMATION OR ADVICE.
